Maria v DRĂGUȘ

Maria is a Romanian-German actress based in Paris. She was born on a hot August day, and her first love was the theater, where her dad, a professional cellist, took her every night.
Trained as a ballet dancer, she was discovered at the age of 13 by acclaimed director Michael Haneke for his film The White Ribbon.
That film launched her career and “made her realize what she wants to do for the rest of her life.”
Since then, she has continued to work across European cinema, collaborating with directors such as Cristian Mungiu, Emily Atef, and Tim Van Patten
and with acting colleagues such as Saoirse Ronan, Margot Robbie and Michael Douglas.

Her passion lies in transformative performances, minimalist and precise (say the critics). Perhaps a remnant of her dancing days.
Surely out of passion and based on a quote by actor Ulrich Mühe “acting is the art of doing nothing” .

In her free time, she loves studying everything neuroscience, meditation, photography, sports and dance.
And even though in pictures she rarely smiles, she loves laughing.
